shoe shoppin'

so the last post (and having spent a day working with shoes) has sparked a shoe-browsing moment!! very dangerous territory. i love, love, love shoes. if I had a hefty pay - packet, i'm sure I would have louboutins and pradas aplenty. for now, I make do with rip offs at Kurt Geiger, Topshop and anywhere else I scout a good buy.

For now, I want to share a few finds, a few things that make me reach for my purse or alternatively, make my jaw drop:

Versace's Ankle Strap Croc Wedge is sooo edible (I know I keep saying edible lately but it is!)

Gucci's Newton booties are utterly FIERCE!

Referring to the previous post: speaking of Prada rip-offs look what I found at Carvela for Kurt Geiger:

I must say, disappointed with Carvela on that one. Why the short heel??

givenchy and prada rip offs

on reading superdrug's (now free) DARE mag ... I stumbled across some key finds! (i must say I was surprised as this is possibly the first time I ever picked up the mag)

so Matalan (of all places) has ripped off Prada's conical heels!! The shades are clearly not quite as edible as Prada's.... nor does it look quite as fierce - but if you're strapped for cash (it's a mere £12) and want some Prada-esque these are... almost identical! (in shape that is... and in no other way meaning quality and tonal shades)

(apologies for poor photo quality - photo taken of the DARE mag!)

and... I think I am now officially in love with these givenchy rip off's (left, below) at river island - unfortunately not yet available online!

Priced at £64.99 - I am a shopaholic on a mission.

"Karl Lagerfeld can't use an ipod"

Suzy Menkes turns investigative reporter exposing tech-phobia amongst the world's top fashion designers:

"Domenico Dolce never touches a computer

Miuccia Prada can’t use Photoshop

Paul Smith doesn’t have a cellphone

Donatella Versace “doesn’t do the internet”

Karl Lagerfeld can’t use an iPod

Marc Jacobs can use an iPod but he can’t sync it" [Agenda inc.]

Pair of Pradas Please!

Miuccia Prada on lace A/W 08-09

"I wanted a surface that was simple - I needed something that moved. I started looking at lace and I became obsessed with it - and also, of course, because I never liked it. It reminds me of children, the church. I got rid of all the old connotations. Here, it was very feminine, elegant and dignified."

American Apparel Tri-tone Footless Tights :: Prada-esque

American Apparel's Opaque Over-the-knee tri-tone footless tights: waiting for them to come through the post...! looking forward to it, so prada-esque. Shame they aren't different contrasting colours instead of different shades of one colour. The plum and true blue and brown are going to be mine very soon!!
See them here:

So I hear the £1.8 billion asking price for New Look will not be met by the highest bidders, what will happen next??

Working in the store personally, it's business as usual but trading is slow and many stores have reported bad sales ... I think everyone can thank the weather for that. It truly is such a depressing summer so far. No sun, cool weather, i'm still having to wear a trench everyday to work! On the contrary, I could say that I also blame the weather for my twitching fingers that gave in from boredom and the attempt to bring some cheer to my day and surrendered to the calling of two Topshop purchases today (using the Topshop card!)

I'd say this month's Vogue has been one of the more readable and aren't they LOVING the Prada shoes and socks..!

This month's Vogue UK also reminded me why I love Christian Dior:

This Giambattista Valli dress is also featured in this month's Vogue and looks stunning:

I'm going to have to start scanning in my favourite spreads to share the joy!!

Still waiting to hear back from the possible work placement opportunity in September, fingers crossed!
