Hallo!! from.. Berlin

I'm flying back tonight, had a lovely weekend away and discovered some wonderful little boutiques to rival those back in London. I will post about that in more detail when I'm home so I can upload the photos and report on my findings and amazing buys...!

I just wanted to post up how I have this overwhelming urge to get a retro bicycle. It's all the rage now isn't it... well, bicycles have always had a strong presence amongst our European counterparts but I'm loving the retro bicycles even more so after my visit to the flea market yesterday. I saw a man riding a retro-cycle with a basket at the back with his little dog sat in the basket... I'd like a bicycle with curved handles and a pretty basket.

But speaking of bicycles.. has anyone seen the Chanel bicycles costing around £6200??Well that's what you pay for quilted leather and the double-C logo.

Neon-coloured bikes (dotted around NY) were the latest guerilla marketing technique used by DKNY during New York fashion week, accompanied by handouts of bike maps. Clever way to promote eco-travel and the NY brand.

so i'm spying on two auctions ending tonight.... but by the looks of bids so far, I might have to allow them.

I really would like this sweet black wool mink satin lined coat... current bid is $42.. I can imagine this rocketing

and this skinny tuxedo jacket would fit nicely in my wardrobe...

topshop fix part. 2

tried on a 'hand-beaded' dress in the kate moss collection.

gross.

felt like a cheap knock off from morgan/select.

The sequin/bead cape pleasantly surprised.. .but still wasn't worth parting with £80 for:

I've been after hareem style trousers for a little while and tried the linen hareem style trousers and the washed silk hareem trousers. I left completely undecided.

the Ruffle bib sleeveless blouse was cute, but i wasn't sure the thin cotton/polyester mix warranted a £25 price tag..

thoughts please!!

topshop fix

Horrified to find that topshop had completely ripped off peter jensen's ruffle dress and had it at like half the price. though it was in black and totally didn't look good as mine. but are they allowed to do that!? unfortunately i can't find the black ruffle dress on topshop.com ... nor my peter jensen ruffle dress but it was last featured in my wardrobe diary.

browsing through topshop i found a couple of things i wouldn't have minded splashin out on had i had the cash:

sling back mule £60 also available in red and white.

premium open toe lace up shoe £80 (also available in red and black)

i bought a pair of sunglasses from topshop and a verrrry cute bag from... well, i'll let you guess where from when i post up the pics tomorrow!

Oversize me!

The new thing I'm on the hunt for is the over-sized clutch. I had been admiring these for years on the screens of Sex and the City... and now they're a bit hit in the mainstream fashion world.

Here's the lowdown of my top picks and prospective buys:

Oversized snakeskin soft clutch @ asos.com £15
snakeskin i love. soft and ruched, what's not to like? I think the only qualm I might have is if it's just a popper fastening with no zip (which I have a sneaking suspicion it is) It is only £15 though after all. You get what you pay for!

I'm absolutely loving this Large Zip Top Bow Clutch @ Topshop £30 though disappointed its only available in this 'pink' and a rich red... it would be nice to see it a nice rich blue hue.


I was admiring this faux-snake patchwork clutch in Warehouse (£20) yesterday and couldn't quite decide if I loved or hated it. Not completely over-sized but big enough.
I also admired this Faux Snake Gusset Clutch in Warehouse (£16) too, the flimsy fastening and faux-snake/leather put me off a bit but the shape and design I like.
Available at Urban Outfitters, this Tabitha Keira clutch is really quite yummy. Snakeskin and patent it looks like it was made for me! It's a shame about the £149 price tag. (Also available in brown and red).

This Vintage-inspired over-sized clutch at Monsoon might just do the trick at £25.
The Venere at Furla is very cute.. available in an array of colours there's a colour to suit all!

I'll have to continue hunting... now is the kind of time I wish I could pop into a cool vintage boutique and find that perfect clutch! Shame the pennies are so tight... :(

La Petite Salope... <3

I've always been a bit of a fan of La Petite Salope. I'm having a browse through my-wardrobe.com.. this Chiffon Prom Dress is in the sale priced at £595 and has a lovely deep V back to show off that sexy back. Bit cutesy...
But what stood out the most to me was this gorgeous nude pleated/draped dress. It's full price (£797) so completely not within budget... but it ticks all the boxes for me: nude *tick* and draping *tick*.

Kate Moss for Topshop pt. 5

Kate Moss' collection for Topshop as everyone knows has caused outrageous queues lining the streets outside Topshop... however, not one single line that Kate Moss has produced has impressed. The quality, the design - it's never impressed. Considering all the hype and the style icon status - I'd expect much more.

So, I've browsed Topshop for her latest installment.

Again, few pieces are impressing me...

.. but, this silk plunge dress has intrigued me. I'm unsure if it would really impress in person but the design I like. 100% silk, apparently warranting the £150 price tag, I definitely need to judge in person. (Will pop into my local Topshop tomorrow for the verdict)

I have an interview for a different company in London on Friday. Same kind of schedule: group task, one to one interview, maths test. Added extra I haven't been asked to do before is to prepare a SWOT analysis for the day focusing on the womenswear department. I have to brush up on everything for Friday as I haven't considered interview/job stuff for weeks since my last blow back!

Fingers crossed I do well.

Recently I have subscribed to some ebay stores offering vintage clothing. Not some random discarded nothings - but carefully selected on-trend, gorgeous stuff. They all seem to be located in the states though, one in California and this one in particular in Seattle.

But look what is tempting me now...:

Described as a "vintage Black SCARF Angel Slv Kimono Tunic Mini DRESS" it is currently at a bid price of $51 but after having watched a few of the stores past sales - I know it will fetch for much more ! The fact it's sheer and kimono-esque just makes it so f****** me.

This Neiman Marcus "Batwing mini dress" is also spot on my style.... the bidding war is already going currently priced at $50.

Good stuff indie cult vintage - i salute your style and business-sense!
