Tilda for Another

Who would've ever thought Tilda Swinton would feature and look... rather... fab.. in a high fashion shoot?
Turned platinum blonde from garish, scary red head - the style suits and this does wonders for her fashion credentials.... very odd choices of outfits on the red carpet - this just makes you forgive and forget those blunders.
(Noted this is pretty much all down to stylist/photography/make up teams of Another magazine!!)

anti-celeb watcher... turns... celeb-outfit-watcher

Hm.. those who know me will know I am not one to watch celebs or care when celebs were seen where... but in my new job it's a daily chore required (i know it doesn't sound taxing, it's the easy part) to sift through pics of the day of celebs to see what they're wearing.. what's in/what's hot/what could work for us... so.. i must say i've begun to enjoy OUTFIT watching.. note, outfit watching, not celeb watching... note: i am not a minor - celeb fiend. (i dislike the pap shots but they come part and parcel in sifting through these snapshots...)
here are my favourites of the month so far...

The metallic silver padded straight cut trousers are FIERCE!!!! Also like the boyfriend slouch tux jacket with gold lining/sleeve.. i saw lindsay lohan wearing the same one with red lining.. so prefer the gold!

This print is lush.. go agyness!

Erin pulls of the boots fabulously.. saw her in Selfridges wearing the same boots and they are super 'cool'.. :P

The gathered sleeve is lush here.

Kimberley Stewart's big slouchy cocoon sleeves are lovely.

Kate Moss for Topshop pt. 5

Kate Moss' collection for Topshop as everyone knows has caused outrageous queues lining the streets outside Topshop... however, not one single line that Kate Moss has produced has impressed. The quality, the design - it's never impressed. Considering all the hype and the style icon status - I'd expect much more.

So, I've browsed Topshop for her latest installment.

Again, few pieces are impressing me...

.. but, this silk plunge dress has intrigued me. I'm unsure if it would really impress in person but the design I like. 100% silk, apparently warranting the £150 price tag, I definitely need to judge in person. (Will pop into my local Topshop tomorrow for the verdict)

Front:
Back:

Continuing with the top picks from the collection:

something for the kate moss die-hard fans (not for me):
Top Hat Print Tee: £20

Moss taps into the boyfriend-blazer trend:
Boyfriend blazer: £70

Other than that, the rest is completely uninspiring... and I cannot be bothered to copy and paste anymore dull pieces onto my blog.

Ankle boots - yay or nay?

Not a new fashion trend, no. Although some keep harping on about the newness of it. But for some reason I'm more drawn to the ankle boot this season more than ever before.

Before this new autumn/winter season I always dismissed ankle boots as unflattering, futile pieces - neither practical against the wind and rain and unforgiving for both skinny and fat calves and ankles.

But let's face it, I wouldn't say no to a pair of Louboutins (@ net-a-porter.com). I love the quirky, outrageousness of Louboutin in this pair. (But to be fair, I am bias, when would I ever say no to a pair of Louboutins):

And for some reason, these Marc by Marc Jacob boots are looking fresh with this outfit styled by net-a-porter :

I love ruffles, so on ankle boots it adds that bit of personality to it, Marc by Marc Jacobs Ruffle-top ankle boot @ net-a-porter.com:But these Emilio Pucci Scallop edged ankle boots have come up trumps above the rest on net-a-porter:

For the high street, this ruched ankle boot £75 @ Topshop is on the to-be-considered-shopping-list, though they do look very kate/sienna @ glastonbury inspired which really hesitates me....

This gets away with titilating my taste buds only because I see a hint of brogue (£65 @ Office):

But can ankle boots really be worn with dresses? I would've quite happily exclaimed 'no!' a year ago but.... the response has now reverted to a 'to be confirmed'... I think a trip to the shops is in order to confirm my opinion.

Just an after-thought, an example of how not to wear the trend:

Your thoughts welcome. :)
