Louise Goldin and Marios Schwab AW 09-10 ... more prints and mixed textures

Marios Schwab starts with quite a gothic feeling with slashing and an oversized safety pin, transforming this device using more colourful pieces with hints of leopard print... gradually evolving to some really lovely wearable prints - from large marbled clashes of red, ice blue and forest green and descending into what looks like paint splatters of the same palatte. sumptuous.

Louise's development is just lovely to watch. This season's mix of textures, knits and materials are refreshing and very desirable... really gorgeous wearable pieces. good show.

Giles AW 09-10 ... print evolution pt 2 and future forms?

As much as I feel wrong in saying this... as I always love something new, conceptual and forward thinking... however i rather disliked Giles' show this season! (*gasp*)

The moulded plastic forms with spikes didn't do anything for me... the nude body suits didn't really work for me... and the odd coat literally encasing the model reminds me of.... something from spongebob......

i think the only things i could say i do like -
jourdan's outfit
the move on oversized animal prints

as much as i am a sucker for leather ... i felt there was too much carnage on show here - fur, leather, suede, more leather.... as much as i love leather - i think the form of it being in brown and so much abundance of the suede and the fur just made me feel like i was looking at the contents of a cage in the zoo... maybe its the textures from the spikey plastic that adds to this really odd relation!?

Danielle Scutt AW 09-10 .. print evolution

Zip detailing on hips on these skin tight bottoms are a nice detail. the one-structured-shoulder is a nice move on from the many one shouldered pieces we've seen in past seasons.

prints at danielle scutt have a really refreshing new texture and feel to them. something worth looking into in product development...

Richard Nicoll AW 09-10 ... panelling and metallic shine

i brought forward panelled blocks of colour (think a combination of muted tones like dusty pink and smooth silvery white and metallic dirty golds/bronzes not bright colours of 80s we've seen for s/s) and the trend seems to be going strong into a/w 09 with richard nicoll's show.

really gorgeous key pieces. i really want the transparent mac! the corseted bodice is lush too

Christopher Kane AW 09-10 .. sheer sheer away

Christopher Kane has another strong show. I love the combination of opposing lines running succinctly around the body - some curves, some squiggles, some poker straight lignes. All help to encase the model with a mixture of sheer and holographic surfaces. all very wearable, sign me up for the waiting list.

i can't wait to see pugh's show from paris!
